From the recording One Beautiful Mile

Lyrics

1. When you're a true rider on the road it's stop or go that's all there is. Too much time between the lines alive and alone has consequence. You try and make friends with those you know, but traveling fast means moving slow. It's hard to meet in the middle with your heart in the riddle of letting go.
2. When you play your hand just right mercy and might seem yours to hold, but such a fickle combination is hard to remember when the pressure's on. It's a shift and a glance in a moment gone, a what-could-be or "so long", and from sunrise on that rascal sun's still going down.

*For one beautiful mile, one beautiful mile, one beautiful mile, one beautiful mile...

3. You've been given all you need, but always seem to come up short. Your trial and tribulation self-magnify into the dead-end sort. It's always something you can't understand, the more you try and comprehend, the deeper mystery that you get in takes you where it can.

4. When you're a true rider on the road there's no place like home for very long, but may you always have the grace to keep on keeping on. So this is where I leave you friend, from now on and until then, we'll meet in the middle with our hearts in the riddle of God again.
